The Home Office is currently inviting funding bids from Violence against Women and Girls: Specialist and Support Services (VSS).

This Grant is to provide funding for Specialist Service provision, supporting victims of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). It comprises of four components which will be run via separate competitions but will be managed as a single, coherent portfolio by the the Home Office; aligned to the 2021 VAWG Strategy and 2022 Domestic Abuse Plan.

This funding will deliver on several key commitments within the Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy 2021 and the Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan 2022. Both the Tackling VAWG Strategy and the Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan seek to transform the whole of society’s response in order to prevent offending, support victims and pursue perpetrators, as well as to strengthen the systems processes in place needed to deliver these goals.

The Home Office intends to provide grant funding for four components as part of this overarching grant.

For the ‘By and for’ Services Fund (‘By and for' ONLY) we intend to provide funding for approximately 10 - 24 separate projects or programmes.

For the Specialist Services Fund (which can include 'by and for') we intend to provide funding for approximately 3 separate projects or programmes.

For the Sexual Violence Support Fund we intend to provide funding for approximately 2 - 4 separate projects or programmes.

For the Employers’ Engagement Fund we intend to provide funding for 1 successfully applicant.

The Grant Funding Agreement will be from 1st April 2023 and end on 31st March 2025. The delivery of this grant funding is also being informed by the Ministry of Justice led, cross-government Victims Funding Strategy which aims to align funding streams, tackle barriers to sustainable funding and drive consistent commissioning.
