Merseyside's Police Commissioner is attending her second meeting with the Police and Crime Panel today (Thursday, 2nd September), the body which scrutinises her work.
Emily Spurrell meets six times a year with the Panel. They support the Police Commissioner, while holding responsibility for overseeing her work and making sure she is holding the Chief Constable to account.
This is Emily's second meeting with the Panel since being elected and taking office on 13th May 2021.
She will present an overview of her first 100 days in office, which she marked on 21st August.
Also on the agenda for discussion are how the Police Commissioner intends to hold the Chief Constable, Serena Kennedy, to account and plans for her governance framework, as well as how she monitors complaints.
Police and Crime Panel meetings are always open to the public.
