Merseyside's Police Commissioner is today meeting with the body which supports and scrutinises her work, the Police and Crime Panel today.

Emily Spurrell meets six times a year with the Panel. They support the Police Commissioner, while holding responsibility for overseeing her work and making sure she is holding the Chief Constable to account.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the previous meeting in December 2021 was postponed and the agenda was held over to be considered at this meeting.

As such, the Commissioner will use this meeting to provide an update on Pillar 2 of her Police and Crime Plan which focuses on Supporting Victims; Safer Communities.

The PCC will also present the draft budget for her office and for Merseyside Police for 2022/23, as well as the draft medium term financial strategy and capital programme. She will also give an update on her plans for the Crime Prevention Fund and Community Safety Partnership funding for the year ahead.

Police and Crime Panel meetings are always open to the public.
