Restorative Justice Unpacked Event

- Virtual

Merseyside's Police Commissioner is joining an event which aims to examine how restorative justice can change lives.

Hosted by 'Why me?',  this virtual event will look at what can be done to make restorative justice more available to victims of crime.

Restorative justice brings together people harmed by crime or conflict with those responsible for the harm, to find a positive way forward.

Restorative justice gives victims a chance to explain to offenders the real impact of their crime, to get answers to their questions. It allows victims to ask 'why me?' and provides them with the opportunity to challenge the offender’s behaviour.

This session will include first-hand accounts from victims of crime who have benefitted from Restorative Justice and from specialists about how and why it is effective.

The Police Commissioner commissions Restorative Solutions to deliver this service for victims in Merseyside.
